BIO

Ghazaleh Bigdelou is an illustrator and author with a bachelor’s degree in painting. Although her academic studies began in painting, she soon discovered a deeper connection with illustration and storytelling, embracing them as a way to communicate more directly and connect with a wider audience. Her work has received international recognition: she was awarded the Golden Pen plaque in Belgrade for The Joke in 2009, and an International Board on Books for Young People diploma for An Umbrella with White Butterflies in 2020. Most recently, she received the Silver Medal in the 2022 Key Colours Competition and the Gold Medal in 2024, both for work published by Clavis Publishing. Her recent books, How Do You Become Friends with the Moon?, which received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews, and Warm All Over, which received the Gold Medal in 2024 and has been translated into several languages, continue to reach an international audience. She remains deeply passionate about creating storybook illustrations that resonate with readers worldwide.
